  • McKinney Tech & Data Youth Council:

    The mission of McKinney's Tech and Data Youth Council is to inspire high school students to become civic leaders and innovators by using their technical skills to create tech projects that improve city life and serve the McKinney community.

    Responsibilities

    • Attend biweekly meetings at McKinney’s City Hall (or Virtually)
    • Collaborate on civic tech projects from ideation to development to release
    • Represent youth perspectives in ideas and needs surrounding what the community of McKinney needs and the role of technology in government
    • Maintain a positive attitude and engage in teamwork alongside fellow peers.

    Eligibility Requirements

    • Be a McKinney resident or attend a school in the McKinney area
    • Be a student in grades 10-12 as of the 2025-2026 school year.
    • Demonstrate technical ability in school and/or out of school activities.
    • Commit to a 3 month membership from January 2026 to March 2026.
